From Enquiry to Booking: What You Can Expect

June 26, 2026

Hello and thanks so much for being here. I’m Paige, a Horsham newborn and family photographer with a cosy studio in the beautiful countryside in a small village in West Sussex.

You’re most likely here because your family is growing in numbers or even in height, and you want to pause this wonderful season of life you’re in. Sometimes the hardest part can be reaching out and enquiring. It is a huge decision booking a photoshoot but it shouldn’t have to be stressful. I want the whole process to feel relaxed, stress-free and easy, so I have made this helpful blog to show you the whole process so you don’t have to guess!

1. Your enquiry

The best way to enquire with me, is to fill in my contact form with your due date or your ideal date which will allow me to check my availability when coming back to you! The more information you provide the better I will be able to help with planning your family photoshoot. I only photograph a set amount of photoshoots each month, so my availability can vary but I always recommend booking at least 2-3 months in advance.

Next, I will reply with a personalised response. I will also send over potential dates that could work with my availability.  In my reply, I will also send over the pricing guide with lots of information about my packages, upgrade collections and all products I sell.

If you are enquiring about a maternity or family session, I will also ask you if you’d prefer a studio photoshoot or an outdoor sunset photoshoot. If you prefer outdoors, we will discuss where you’d like the photoshoot to take place! I have a list of locations to choose from or if not too far, we can go to wherever you prefer to go as a family that has lots of memories!

2. Booking the photoshoot

If you are happy with all the information I have provided in my enquiry response email and would love to book in, the next step is for you to choose your date and complete the booking!

I will send over a link to your very own client portal, where there is a contract to sign, a deposit to pay to secure your booking, and a questionnaire to fill out. The form gathers all the information needed for me to get to know your family and also so I can plan out your photoshoot and make it the best experience possible. Once those are completed you will be booked in.

For a newborn photoshoot we provisionally book a date 7-10 days after your due date. This date can then be moved if the baby comes early or late. I am very flexible!

3. Photoshoot planning

After you’re booked in, I will send you all the planning guides over for you to read at your own leisure. Please know that from the very start, I will take care of everything. I want you to feel confident walking into your photoshoot knowing I have got it all covered and you don’t need to do anything.

I’ll explain everything, including:

  • How to prepare
  • What to wear
  • What to expect on the day
  • What happens after the photoshoot
  • My studio wardrobe
  • How to find me
  • What to bring
  • Outdoor locations
  • FAQ

I’ll also be available for any styling questions, or any questions in general!

4. The photoshoot

The next part is the fun part! Just turn up and I’ll handle the rest. Each photoshoot is designed to ensure you feel as relaxed as possible. I have done this for years so let me handle the children. You can sit on my sofa and have a cuppa. I’ve got you!

5. What happens after the photoshoot

A few weeks after the photoshoot you will then receive your online gallery with all the photos from our photoshoot. You can view this from the comfort of your own home on any chosen device. From there you can choose your favourites included in your package and the option to purchase extra images and products will be available.

My goal is for you to feel looked after from the very first email to the moment you hold your finished photographs in your hands.

You are not just booking a photographer. You’re investing in an experience that celebrates your family exactly as you are and in this season of your life.

Remember, you don’t regret the photos you take, only the photos you don’t take.

If you’re thinking about booking a photoshoot, and would love to travel to my Horsham photography studio, I’d love to hear from you and answer any questions you have. There’s never any pressure! Just a friendly conversation to see if I’m the right photographer for your family.

Get in touch via my contact form below. I would love to hear from you!
