Hey! Thanks so much for being here. I’m Paige, a West Sussex newborn and family photographer with a cosy studio in the beautiful country side in Billingshurst.
Here are my 4 top tips for a stress free Newborn photoshoot:
1. Preparation
Preparation is key, especially if you’re going to give birth between now and your photoshoot. For newborns, I recommend packing your photoshoot bag before your baby arrives if possible – pack it at the same time as your hospital bag! It will make life easier once baby is here.
Pack things such as: Extra nappies, wipes, dummies, change of clothes & milk. I have lots of beautiful newborn outfits in the studio so you don’t have to go shopping beforehand.
2. Expectations
Don’t Worry About Perfection! Candid moments, tiny yawns, and imperfect poses can create the most memorable and beautiful photos. There’s nothing more unpredictable than children! All I need is a millisecond to capture a beautiful photo, so if you’re bringing young children along, be reassured that they don’t need to sit still or look a certain way – I’m here to capture their beautiful little personality, just as they are.
3. Toddlers
Make it no big deal. One of my biggest tips when it comes to bringing toddlers and young children to a photoshoot is to not over prepare them. The more you tell them they’re going to have to sit and smile, the less they’re likely too! Simply tell them that you’re going to visit your friend Paige’s studio. You’re going to play with lots of toys and Paige will need their help to take lots of photos of Mummy & Daddy. There’s nothing better than making it into a fun game!
4. Outfits
The easiest way to organise outfits? Plan yours first, Mum! I want you to feel good about yourself and confident in what you’re wearing, so choose your favourite outfit and plan everyone else’s around that. Your babies will look cute no matter what! I have in depth style guide that is sent to you as soon as you book with specific details on what to wear. I also have a client wardrobe for mums and babies 0-18 months to save you from having to buy something new.
