Natural newborn photography in Horsham

Hey! Thanks so much for being here. I’m Paige, a Horsham newborn photographer with a cosy studio in the beautiful country side in a small village in West Sussex.

The time is nearly here where you are about to welcome your newborn baby into the world. You might be considering a newborn photoshoot to help capture all those wonderful important details such as their baby rolls, the sleepy yawns and their tiny fingers. It goes so quickly and newborns change so fast.

Newborn photography isn’t a luxury it’s an investment in irreplaceable memories that can’t be re-created.

As you’re here you are most likely looking into newborn photography and realised that it comes with a cost. So why is it worth investing into a newborn photoshoot?

  1. Capturing an irreplaceable moment

Newborn photoshoots usually take place when your baby is between 7-14 days old. It’s a time sensitive shoot because babies grow up so quickly! Its important to document all the perfect tiny moments of whilst they are still so small. Capturing the small but important details such as the flaky skin, the newborn scrunch, the tiny toes, the big yawns!

I speak to so many mums who visit me with their older baby or even their second newborn, wishing they had just booked the photoshoot a lot earlier as they now see the value in it.

If you don’t want to book it for you, do it for them!

2. Photographer safety & training

Not only do I have to know how to take a good photo, but a huge important part of newborn photography is to know how to safely soothe and pose your baby. I have invested (and continually invest ) in ongoing education, so I am fully trained to correctly pose your baby in the safest way possible.

As my style of photography is very natural, I do not pose your baby in any unusual ways. My sessions are fully baby led meaning we stop whenever baby needs to feed or have a cuddle.

3. Photographer costs

There are a lot of high costs in order to run a photography business therefore this massively impacts the price of photoshoots. Such as professional cameras, lenses, education, training, software’s, studio, outfits. I also invest in the best neutral soft blankets and outfits for your babies as well as dresses for mums.

Another huge part of the pricing process is time. A part that many people don’t see. One photoshoot typically takes me a total of 20+ hours of work. A typical newborn photoshoot lasts between 2-4 hours as I encourage breaks for the baby to feed, change nappies, and of course for you to have cuddle time! Then, there is the editing time!

4. Your photoshoot experience

I focus on providing you with not only a ‘photoshoot’ but an amazing experience from the moment you walk in to months after the shoot. I create a calm environment with refreshments such as coffee, water & delicious snacks. Not only this, but there is no rush during a newborn photoshoot. You can sit back and relax, you’re in safe hands. The studio is your home away from home!

So when is the best time to book?

I encourage parents to book just after your 12-week scan to ensure I can fit you in and so that we can photograph your baby in the first few weeks.

I hope this has been helpful for you in deciding whether you think newborn photography is worth the investment. If you have any questions at all please get in touch, I will be more than happy to help.
